BABY STEPS: Its what it takes.
I think we can all agree that browns have been a poorly run organization since their return. I know that the city and the browns fans deserve better. We deserve a winner and we want to see immediate results NOW. Even though I feel for the fans, I would like to see more patience from them. Turning a franchise around takes time and dedication. I feel that we finally have a hierarchy in place that can take the team to the next level but like anything great it needs time.
I have been a Quinn fan since we drafted him. I think, a part of me always cheered for him because he grew up a fan and knows well enough what the Cleveland fans go through every season. I was disappointed that we did not give him another opportunity to prove himself but as I look back at the decision now I realize that it was for the best.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I think that when you come to a team that was full of backup players like the Browns of 2008, you have to do something drastic. I feel that Holmgren is filling the holes in the team in free agency so he can start the rebuilding through the draft. He has written of this season, but wants to have the rookies from the draft learn from the vets who have started in the league for several years. I think that, if nothing else Delhomme provides that veteran leadership necessary to assist with the growth of the future.
That brings me to the draft and how we need to change our recent history in the draft. I really enjoyed the pick of Heckert in the offseason. I feel that he was a crucial part of the Eagles team that was good year after year. It is easily forgotten that if AFC North is tough then NFC East may be a beast in the NFC. Every year the rookies have contributed on the field for the Eagles and this says a lot about the understanding Heckert has of players that work. I am hoping that we can see some results in the right direction this year and really dominate in the years to follow.
If you look at the Cowboys, Redskins and the Giants of NFC, you will see a lot of similarities with them and AFC North. That division is very physical in the trenches. I feel that we have what it takes to be physical in the trenches and Heckert knows that. I also feel that he is looking to add a lot of speed on the field. This would really compliment Cribbs play. Football is a game of split second decision and when you have a lot of speed on the field it allows for even less time to make those decisions.
Last point that I would like to make is the need we have for a dominant safety. I know Brandon Mcdonald has struggled at times but I feel that our Safeties were never game breakers. I look at Pittsburgh and Baltimore and thier safeties and what impact they have on the defensive schemes and I feel that it was something we really lacked. I have heard several analysts mention how deep that draft is on cornerbacks this year, which makes me hope that we can move up to draft and get Eric Berry. I feel that he has all the intangibles to really produce at the next level. I like Joe Haden but I just feel that we have a greater need in Safety especially if we will use our second for a QB.
All the speculations at the end of the day are just what they are SPECULATIONS. I am hopeful that the new regime has what it takes to bring the Browns out of the basement of AFC North. I would like to get back to talking smack with the Pittsburgh Steelers and be able to hold my own. I NEED THE CONTENT BROWNIES. I am able to be patient as I have been for years. Lets get this baby back on track ONE BABY STEP AT A TIME.
