Add a fourth quarterback that has been spotted on the Seattle Seahawks radar today.
According to Steve Wyche of NFL.com, the Seattle Seahawks are bringing in San Diego Chargers' restricted free agent Charlie Whitehurst for a visit.
He just wrapped up a visit with the Arizona Cardinals, who, also like Seattle, are set to host Derek Anderson . The two teams are currently battling for the same potential backup quarterbacks.
Whitehurst is a restricted free agent who would cost the signing team a third round pick. The Seattle Seahawks don’t have a third round pick, but Wyche also said that Seattle is working on acquiring a third round pick, which presents an interesting situation.
As I mentioned before, the Seahawks' interest in Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb would make incumbent quarterback Matt Hasselbeck available, (if a replacement was acquired). Unless they are bowing out of the Brandon Marshall derby, this could affect things on the wide receiver front as well.
Hasselbeck would be an upgrade over Denver quarterback Kyle Orton , and along with a second round pick, seems to be a perfect match for Brandon Marshall and a third round pick.
