Chargers Release a Special Player
Jamal Williams was set to enter the final year of his current contract with the San Diego Chargers, however Willams will not spend this season in the powder blue.
Williams was the anchor of the Chargers 3-4 defense for many years, and a player like Williams comes few and far between.
If you take a look around the NFL you will notice their are many good defensive tackles, but not so many great ones.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Williams who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1998 NFL Supplimentry Draft and has spent his entire career so far as a Charger.
I'm sure many Bolts fans have memories of John Madden talking about Williams and the way he clogs up the middle and shuts down running games on Sunday Night Football.
Williams was always a hard-nosed player to say the least who gave it everything he had. However Williams was injured almost all of last season and is aging.
The plan seemingly was to let Williams finish out his time in San Diego and groom another young defensive tackle. San Diego has changed it's mind by cutting Williams they will save close to $7-million dollars and will be able to bring back speedster running back Darren Sproles, "The Lightning Bug."
Still this move most sadden many long time Charger fans as another great bolt goes. Look for San Diego to pick up a defensive tackle within the first three rounds of the NFL draft.
