Haynesworth on the trade table?

Mark ButerbaughMar 3, 2010

First thing is first, Fox Sports circulates a rumor that the Redskins may be seeking to trade $100 million DT Albert Haynesworth.

The Lions and Bucs make some sense, if they want to spend their money. But Lions Coach Jim Schwartz really wants free-agent Kyle Vanden Bosch, a pass rusher he coached while with the Titans. I keep hearing that the Redskins would love to part with Albert Haynesworth in order to get Peppers, but who would take Fat Albert off their books?

Let me call bull$#@# on this one, at least for now.  Two specific reasons.  First, would trading Haynesworth after only one season into a $100 million deal not make Daniel Synder look like a HUGE fool?  Wow.  Talk about a complete description of incompetence.  And two, the Redskins gave Haynesworth a boat load of money, a huge contract.  What team is going to be willing to take on that albatross  Answer?  None.

Sorry, I can't see Big Al going anywhere.  In fact, as good as Albert Haynesworth can be, I would prefer to see the Redskins actually utilize Haynesworth's dominance so he can be dominant, before tossing him aside.  Fact is, Redskins some how, some way, need to get over the organization's infatuation with, and loves fest for, the biggest free agent of any given year.  Last year it was Big Al.  This year it is Julius Peppers.  Will they want to get rid of Pepper next year because of the new, next best thing to come along?
