Nike's New “Bo Knows/Albert Knows” Marketing Campaign
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Nike’s original “Bo Knows” cross trainer shoes – which provides a legitimate excuse for Nike to remake the original shoe, bring Bo Jackson out of hiding for some dim lit commercial cameo, and charge upwards of $200 for a pair of the spanking new “anniversary edition”.
Sounds about right….but this time, Bo Knows Friends (+3 blogging points for integrating the cliche tagline within the first two ‘graphs of this post).
Later this month, Nike will release a specialized two pack of shoes that contain a remake of the original “Bo Knows” cross trainers….as well as a limited edition pair customized by St. Louis Cardinals slugger, Albert Pujols. That’s right; Albert Knows. Just ask La Russa. He’ll tell you.

Albert’s version features midnight blue and red accents – as well as specialized baseball etchings. Cute, eh?
We’re told that the special two-pack edition will be available at Nike.com later this month, and will cost around $100 per shoe. So, um, $400 for the pair.
Of course, those privy to the Cardinals’ Spring Training in Jupiter, FL saw Albert arrive with the shoes (hat tip, Derrick Goold from the Post-Dispatch) last Friday. Heck, those keen eyes among us probably noticed that Number Five was wearing them during a batting practice session on Monday.
If you’re chomping at the bit and can’t wait to fork over money to anything and everything involved Albert Pujols (read: talking to you, “Best Fans in Baseball”), Nike released “Albert Knows” t-shirts late last week. $20.00.
Just do it.
