It feels like only yesterday I was poking fun at the guy who bought a Jason Bay jersey the day after he was signed to the Sox. Now, I get to make fun of him again. Bostonist is reporting that Jason Bay’s days as the guy who replaced Manny Ramirez in our hearts and overpriced jersey replicas is over.

When asked for comment, Manny Ramirez punched me in the face and said, “I’m Manny Ramirez.” Strong words. Strong, bewildering words.

JayBay, as he is affectionately known to his fans in my mind, will be walking the path from Fenway to Queens previously traversed by former Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez. Reportedly, he will be paid $66 million over four years.
