No Price Too Steep? Teams Should Give What It Takes For Doc
The difference between a World Series championship and say the runner up may rest in the pitching arm of one Roy Halladay. There is no denying that Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball and among the teams that are in pursuit of his all-star services, each one knows that Halladay could be the difference. The price for Halladay should be sky high, because before long, one team will give up the amount required...and I don't think that what Toronto is asking is too steep, give them what they want and win yourself a championship. Do they want prospects? Fine, give them prospects...Prospects have to pan out, prospects are not sure things, Roy Halladay on the other hand is.
If your Philadelphia Phillies, you should give Toronto what you must, the possibilty of the following rotation is downright scary and could be one of the best in history: Halladay, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels. Seriously? Who beats them in a best of seven? The Phillies already are the best in the NL, give them Doc and they just put a lock on the spot.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Red Sox are involved, but not to loud. Boston would bump New York out of the way with Halladay, imagine the 1-2 punch of him and Beckett, then Jon Lester.
If your the New York Yankees, why on earth aren't you shipping out the neccessary goods to pull in Doc Halladay and ensure yourself another title? Sabathia, Halladay, Pettitte...That first two sends chills down any team's back. The Yankees are already well on their way to being the favorite again, they added Curtis Granderson the other day, a move I really like and one that makes the Red Sox cringe just a little. Reports are that Toronto wants one of Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes with catching prospect Jesus Montero. Whats the delay? Montero wouldn't be in Yankee stadium before 2011 and either one of those pitchers is expendable and nowhere close to Halladay's level.
Reports also have it that Halladay could be heading to the Angels, in exchange for Erick Aybar and Joe Saunders, as well as more I'm sure. Pull the trigger L.A., Halladay makes you a contender immediately and puts you right up there with the Yankees.
Why are the Cubs silent in these trade discussions? Pulling in a player like Halladay would be the best move Jim Hendry ever made. Give them Zambrano, a top prospect, whatever they want. The Cubs are not that far from being a serious contender and adding the sure-fire Doc would certainly notch the Cubs up the ladder. It hardly surprises me that they are quiet, but I know they have some good prospects they could deal...
Roy Halladay is well worth whatever Toronto is seeking, it blows my mind that one of the above mentioned teams hasn't come to terms yet. Halladay makes them a championship contender, its foolishness not to acquire him. Especially if your the Yankees, I mean, seriously, whats holding you up?
