Updated 2021 NFL Draft Order After Sunday's Week 9 Results
The New York Jets' path to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft got clearer after Week 9's Sunday results.
The Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars are the only teams in the NFL with fewer than two wins. New York may move to 0-9 with a loss to the New England Patriots on Monday night.
To pull three NFC East franchises, the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals back into the mix for the top pick, the Jets have to win twice.
At the moment, the Jets have not inspired enough confidence to win a single contest, let alone multiple ones.
If the Patriots take down the Jets on Monday night, they will pull ahead of the crop of two-win teams and likely be out of the running for a top-five selection.

The Jets come into Monday night with an eight-game losing streak against the Patriots. In fact, New York only beat New England on four occasions over the last decade.
Losing for the ninth time in a row can be viewed as a positive only in the draft perspective. The Jets would still be the favorite to land Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence if they stumble at MetLife Stadium.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are the biggest threat to the Jets' draft status after they fell to 1-7 with a loss to the Houston Texans.
Jacksonville might be in a similar situation as the Jets entering the offseason. Both teams could have new head coaches and may try to move on from Sam Darnold and Gardner Minshew II in favor of Lawrence or another draft-eligible quarterback.
Doug Marrone's team does not appear to have many avenues to a victory in the second half of the season.
Jacksonville's next four games come against the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings.
With both AFC South games against the Texans already played and losses suffered to the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals, the Jaguars can claim the title of second-worst team in the NFL.
The Jets do not have a clear path to a victory either. They take on the Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders out of the Week 10 bye.
The New York Giants and Houston moved up to the two-win group by beating the Washington Football Team and Jacksonville, respectively, though Houston's first-round pick goes to Miami. New England can cut that group to six teams by taking down the Jets on Monday.
Four of the six two-win squads will hit the road in Week 10, while the New York Giants host the Philadelphia Eagles.
If those teams all lose next Sunday, the eight worst franchises in the NFL could be four or more games beneath .500.
