The Top Sneakers in All-Star Game History

The onset of another NBA All-Star Game means more must-see classics in the sneakers realm.

Chicago hosts this year's event, which is once again guaranteed to be a colossal display of impressive style and footwear. Nike and Jordan Brand got out in front of the hype by announcing Windy-City inspired signature NBA All-Star 2020 collection—and that's surely just the beginning.

To celebrate All-Star Weekend, StockX is coming together with retailer RSVP Gallery, Chicago native and frequent Nike and Jordan collaborator Don C, and artist Brandon Breaux to give back to the city. They’ve teamed up with the likes of Union LA, Vic Mensa, Melody Ehsani, and more designers and brands on limited pieces that will only be available through charitable donation on StockX. The collaborative project will also be exhibited in-store at RSVP Gallery combined with a rotation of programming featuring panels and conversations. The event kicks off Friday, February 14, to Sunday. For more details on the collaboration collection and event head to StockX.

Before a downright historic All-Star Weekend, let's take a look back at the most memorable kicks from the last decade or so of all-star games.

Nike KD 4 Galaxy

1 of 10

Release Date: February 24, 2012

Average Resale Price: $386

The Nike KD 4 Galaxy fit right in with an All-Star theme with its out-of-this-world feeling thanks to not only a NASA patch on the tongue, but the starry black midsole.

A slick metallic paired with a total orange-dark grey combo made this one stick out, even amongst a star-studded affair back in 2020.

While plenty of these KD offerings got smooth colorways, this one held its own against other "Galaxy" themed efforts from Lebron and otherwise.

Nike Kobe 8 All-Star

2 of 10

Release Date: February 15, 2013

Average Resale Price: $370

Kobe Bryant's Nike Kobe 8 All-Star from a sports pack lit up the hardwood in 2013 and took down most of the competition.

The unique, vibrant look has easily withstood the test of time, but even then, a Bright Citrus-Sport Turquoise-Total Crimson tandem was a brilliant look. All that atop the familiar trappings with the signature and patterned design to boot.

A limited release for a big occasion in Houston, others donning kicks that day certainly had a problem.

Kith X Nike LeBron 15

3 of 10

Release Date: Aug. 21, 2018

Average Resale Price: $581

Just oozing royalty, LeBron himself trotted these out at the 2018 All-Star event, with the "Closing Ceremony" tag on these marking the end of a line.

Fitting, as the gold and green embroidery and imagery on these went into the "instant classic" column as soon as images went out on the internet and LeBron stepped onto the hardwood.

A unique Kith x Nike LeBron 15, this is a hot wishlist item for any LeBron or sneaker fan, and it all started just a few years back.

Nike Kyrie 4 All-Star

4 of 10

Release Date: February 15, 2018

Average Resale Price: $149

Kyrie Irving put up a good All-Star game fight among heavyweights in 2018 with this Kyrie 4 that draws inspiration from a Los Angeles neighborhood by the name of Venice Beach.

At one point dubbed a "tie dye" edition, the kicks get groovy with the fun design on the side, a pink Swish and the nice beach-themed contrast of the blue on the bottom.

Even better, though not readily apparent, was the graphics of Venice Beach on the insoles, making this one of the more robust offerings on the list.

UA Curry 4 Flushed Pink

5 of 10

Release Date: February 18, 2018

Average Resale Price: $180

Stephen Curry kept it basic in 2018 while going for an eye-catching route—it was an all Flushed Pink version of the Curry 4.

An ode to Curry's wife, Ayesha, Under Armour put up a Flushed Pink upper with the solid white elsewhere, plus a dash of grey on the heel. The other underlying designs remained.

With a great message and a bold, unique look, this one won't have a problem finding spots on lists like this for a long time.

Bape X Adidas Dame 4

6 of 10

Release Date: February 16, 2018

Average Resale Price: $327

Damian Lillard didn't need special kicks to stand out, yet this collab with Bathing Ape sure didn't hurt.

The familiar Dame 4 got a "Green Camo" treatment here, with a green upper and the complementary shark tooth pattern. Feel free to add in the wavy orange lines on the midsole and the fun World Gone Mad decal that is impossible to miss.

This mashup is fun not just as eyecandy, but for its fluid blurring of the lines between hardwood fare and streetwear.

Li-Ning Way of Wade 7 All-Star

7 of 10

Release Date: February 18, 2019

Average Resale Price: $1,008

By far the priciest item on the list, when it comes to the Li-Ning Way of Wade 7, it isn't hard to see why.

Fair game as a kick oozing royalty in its own right, the Lavendar-based offering throws out some flowery decals to bounce nicely off the patterned bottom.

A homage to Wade's career and this longrunning WoW line, the unique take of this edition stands strong among Wade's storied kicks career.

Air Jordan 29 Photo Reel

8 of 10

Release Date: February 13, 2015

Average Resale Price: $491

Hard to forget this classic, right?

A homage to the 30th anniversary of Jordan Brand back in 2015, the "Photo Reel" prominently displays the photo that inspired the Jumpman logo back in 1985. All the better, it features the sunset backdrop and a silhouette of Chicago for good measure.

While this doesn't splash like some of the wilder designs in circulation today, the message behind the effort keeps it in elite standing as far as ASG efforts go.

Nike LeBron 9 Big Bang

9 of 10

Release Date: February 24, 2012

Average Resale Price: $332

An All-Star game wouldn't feel right without LeBron and a list like this wouldn't feel right without a few of his kicks making an appearance.

The 2012 "Big Bang" checks in thanks to its vibrant display of Total Orange with the dash of Orange Mango. Some silver accents and even some mint green on the bottom make this a fun one, whether standing still or in a blur down the court.

Available now on StockX.

Nike Kobe 7 Galaxy

10 of 10

Release Date: February 24, 2012

Average Resale Price: $395

Kobe's "Galaxy" offering wasn't any slouch either, not with a fun Supernova print and the silver Swoosh.

The future-minded notes are all over here. The sole glows in the dark, it came with a 3-D heel clip, the necessary Flywire tech and even a NASA-looking Black Mamba logo to tie everything together.
