Cancer and Sports Part 25: Making Jeff Smile Because It Is Werth It!

No game on Tuesday - Eagles did fine Monday night and Jeff was all excited but nothing compares to his Phillies.  Jeff is getting chemo and Dancing With the Stars (results show)  is just not doing it for him.  With the World Series Phillies Phever - it did not even do it for me!  How do I make him smile?  Owning a sports café gives me an opportunity to play and play I did.  We needed a great ad for the World Series section of the paper and I decided to do some Phillies bagels and let Jeff in on the planning!  So - the end result is the menu you see in the photo area.

Phillies fans are not shy and although this menu appeared in the paper the Jayson Werth fans and the Shane Victorino fans were disappointed.  The menu at JJ Elephant now appears on the home page with 2 additions - Come for Phillies bagels because they are "Werth" it and Flyin' Hawaiian Pineapple Cream Cheese.

Jeff is happy and loved seeing his Phillies menu in The Daily Local News. To the game tonight - Cliff Lee - the bargain pick up vs CC Sabathia - (the 100+ million dollar baby).  These guys are also friends.  Philadelphia will never do a George Steinbrenner and pay humongous bucks to buy a championship.  We are proving that talented players will prevail no matter what the amount of their contract.  We have the Utley, Howard, JRol, Victorino, Werth, Ruiz and Feliz - all  heavy hitters (provided they remember to bring their bats to da' Bronx, baby)) and we have Cliff Lee, Pedro (does not need a last name anymore), Cole (let us pray)  Hamels and the consistent Stay Puff Marshmallow Man, Joe Blanton.  Another high note is that Lidge is Lights Out again and Myers should be in the bull pen! 

CC and A Rod (whose girlfriend Kate Hudson will be in the stands - Remember Yoko Romo - Jessica Simpson?).  Will A Rod redeem himself in the WS?  How will Jeter handle this WS?    I am not about to go through the Yankees line up because, frankly, I could care less.  I just want them to think this is a nice game of Rounders.   The players are supposedly nice guys - it is the fans who are rude and obnoxious!

This is the really big show and we are on the big stage...so it is Put Up or Shut Up for the Phillies and my money is on the Put Up...and I want to see Jeff smile for as many days as it takes to bring home the back to back World Series Trophies!
