Philly Women Smitten Over Big Charlie

Apparently, according to the cover of today’s Philadelphia Daily News, the ladies who watch baseball for the man-meat just can’t get themselves enough of some prominent Phillies. 

Cole Hamels, Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard…Charlie Manuel? 

Perhaps I’m in the minority here, but if I’m the artist in charge of laying out the cover for today’s paper, and said paper is set to run with a headline that reads “Red, Hot and Sexy: Women say the 2009 Phillies steal their hearts”, I’m probably going to leave off the headshot of the Phillies’ 65 year-old, 300 lb manager who spends most of the game with his hands shoved down his pants.  

When we’re talking about sexy Phillies, there are several that could have grabbed that fourth slot on the cover who were robbed.  Miguel Cairo, Joe Blanton and Matt Stairs anyone? 

Or maybe the ladies are pining for a blast from the past…

Red, hot and sexy indeed.
