NFL Week 8 Betting Trends and Strategies

If you are looking for Stone Cold Locks going into Week 8 of the 2009 2010 NFL Season, look no further. We have a theory here at the Stone Cold Lock. Our theory is taking money line (straight up) bets against the following teams:

• Cleveland Browns
• Tennessee Titans
• Kansas City Chiefs
• Washington Redskins
• Detroit Lions
• Tampa Bay Buccaneers
• St Louis Rams

These teams have a combined record of 7-46. That is a lot of pure winners in a straight up bet. That would be 39 winners at 85% win percentage. Stop fussing over the heartbreak of spreads. We don’t think that there has ever been seven teams that have been so bad. The only way that this method will hurt you is that when the teams play each other. In that case you just don’t wager on that game, there should be at least five other winners that week. Stay disciplined, if they play each other on the same week. Just relax and wait til next week. Don’t fall for the itch. Typically in an NFL season you may have two to three teams that are absolutely horrid. For whatever reason this year you have about seven teams that are horrid. These teams will likely not improve for the rest of the season. Each team has its flaws. If you follow the NFL you know that these times are not wild cards they simply are the worst teams. There are middle tier teams that have three to four wins so far that can be considered bad, but they are wild cards. Take for instance the Miami Dolphins; they have a 2-5 record. They are at the bottom like these seven teams however, that wild cat offense has proven that they can score and move the ball on any team. They almost beat the New Orleans Saints. That is why I don’t put them in the category. However these seven teams, they will most like only get at most three wins or less this season. Given that, three wins a team still gives all the teams a combined record of 21-91. That is 70 winners for the entire season with a winning percentage of 77%. That is if you consistently wager on these teams week in and week out. Be patient and wait for the moneylines. Don’t go making wagers on Tuesday, wait for the end of the week. Discipline is key. This is a rare season to try the strategy. I don’t recommend trying this betting strategy until the 3^rd or 4^th week of the season so you can weed out the bad teams from the good teams. To make your strategy even better, add more units when these teams play top tier teams. For instance in this season, when any of these teams play the Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings or New England Patriots, add more units. This is just our theory.
