Colorado Avalanche: Who Are These Guys?

Browsing the hockey stats online the other day I came to a realization that I don't know any of these guys who are leading the Colorado Avalanche.

The Avalanche have burst on to the scene with a 8-1-2 record and 18 points to start the year. The are the front runners in the Western Conference only 11 games in.

So who are the Avalanche, well the are led by:

Wojtek Wolski a first round draft pick in 2004. Wolski has 10 points on the young season and has been a steady 40+ point scorer the last three years.

Paul Stastny a second round pick from 2005. Stastny also has 10 points and is looking to gain back his 70+ point season efforts like in 06-08.

Ryan O'Reilly a second round pick in this year's draft is having a great rookie year. O' Reilly is another solid player with 10 points on the young season.

Milan Hejduk the old man on the team is having a great year with nine points already. Hejduk in his 11th season with the Avalanche is looking for one more cup run.

Kyle Quincy new to the team this year has started strong with eight points. Quincy is in his second full season in the NHL.

Craig Anderson has been outstanding in goal. Anderson has played in all 11 games and has a .936 save percentage.

There is a lot of other great players having good starts to their year.

With this great start it makes you wonder how long it can last. Hopefully a while it's fun watching teams nobody pick shock everybody.
