Alex Rodriguez Responds to Jennifer Lopez's 'El Anillo' on 'Tonight Show'
Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez sat down with Jimmy Fallon on Thursday's episode of the Tonight Show and discussed what it was like when he first heard Jennifer Lopez's new song, "El Anillo," which hints at a potential engagement between the power couple.
"I'm reading the piece of paper like this, and it's the song," Rodriguez said, recounting a night in the recording studio with Lopez. "I know nothing about music. I read the song and I go, 'Babe, it sounds like they're talking about us.' And she goes, 'Yeah! They made it for me.' I heard it for the first time, and I knew it was going to be a smash the first time I heard it."

Fallon responded by asking Rodriguez if he's thought about proposing since the song has generated so much buzz.
"I wasn't thinking about it," Rodriguez said. "When it happens, Jimmy, you'll be the first to know."
A day earlier, Lopez sat down with Fallon and confirmed the song is, in fact, about waiting for a ring.
"The song is definitely about that. It is, but I felt like it was kind of something that all women get to a point where they say, 'OK, what's up?'" she said. "Like we're good, everything's great, what's going on? Am I staying or am I [going]?"
Lopez and Rodriguez confirmed their relationship in March 2017.
