Alexa Bliss Suffers Shoulder Injury at WWE Backlash, to Undergo Further Testing
Alexa Bliss suffered a shoulder injury in her defeat to Nia Jax on Sunday night at Backlash, WWE announced after the event.
Bliss unsuccessfully challenged for the Raw Women's Championship, the title she lost to Jax at WrestleMania 34 in April.
Since her feud with Jax appears to have run its course, Bliss' injury may be a way for WWE to write her off television for a few weeks or months. Especially after Backlash, Jax would certainly benefit from a change in direction.

Following her victory, Jax delivered an in-ring promo that wasn't received warmly by the crowd at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
As much as Bliss did to justifiably paint herself as the villain in the storyline, the height disparity between the 5'1" Bliss and the 6'0" Jax made it hard to see Jax as the underdog baby face much past WrestleMania. Now, Jax can have a rival who poses more of a physical threat.
Bliss, meanwhile, could use her recovery to take a much-deserved break from the ring and come back as a refreshed on-screen character.
