The Rock Reveals John Cena Will Star in Upcoming Movie 'Janson Directive'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and John Cena were once bitter rivals in the ring, but they've long since put their feud aside, and now they're going to be collaborating for a feature film.

Johnson announced Monday on Instagram that he's helping to produce The Janson Directive, which will star Cena in the lead role (warning: post contains NSFW language):

The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit reported in July 2014 that Johnson had been nearing an agreement with Universal Pictures to star in The Janson Directive.

According to Variety's Justin Kroll, Johnson and Universal agreed to hand the acting reins over to Cena since The Rock's current schedule would have made filming difficult.

The fact the 41-year-old received the role is another sign of his gradual shift away from wrestling.

It looks increasingly likely Cena will follow in Johnson's footsteps and leave his in-ring career behind in pursuit of a full-time gig in Hollywood.
