Predictions
No. 5: Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
Drafting at No. 5 overall, the Broncos will look up to the draft picks before them and see Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen taken before them.
This leaves Josh Rosen and Lamar Jackson.
Internally, this would be a difficult decision, but with arguably the top prospect in the entire draft sitting there at No. 5 in Quenton Nelson, he's tough to pass up.
The Broncos continue to rebuild their offensive line after drafting Garett Boles and bringing in Ronald Leary and Jared Veldheer.
Adding Nelson makes this offensive line nearly complete.
John Elway brought in Case Keenum to be the quarterback for 2018, and with the No. 40 overall selection in the second round, they could look to add Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph to mold and develop for 2019 or 2020.
Nelson is a rare prospect who would help solidify the guard position for a decade or more.
You cannot pass on him, and the Broncos decide not to here.
No. 16: Mike McGlinchey, OT, Notre Dame
Sticking with Notre Dame, the Ravens pull the trigger on Nelson's fellow offensive lineman and teammate Mike McGlinchey.
For the longest time, I've had Calvin Ridley slotted in this spot, but the Ravens need to continue re-tooling their offensive line.
Right now, their right tackle for 2018 is set to be Alex Lewis.
I'd take McGlinchey in a heartbeat.
Also, McGlinchey would be the right tackle and his former teammate Ronnie Stanley would be at left tackle.
The Ravens wide receiving corps is far from complete, but with signing Willie Snead to an offer sheet, they can afford to wait until the second round to draft another wide receiver to add to the group.
This is a Ravens pick—improve on the offensive line to continue to keep quarterback Joe Flacco protected.
No. 23: Kolton Miller, OT, UCLA
Originally slotted with the No. 10 pick after losing a coin toss to the 49ers, the Raiders and head coach Jon Gruden decide to trade down and acquire the Patriots' two first-round picks to fill as many holes as they can.
The first of which being Kolton Miller, an offensive tackle out of UCLA.
Miller is far from a perfect offensive tackle prospect, but he has the highest ceiling of any of the tackles in the draft.
He's a tall tackle who will fit in nicely at right tackle in 2018 to help develop his game to ultimately replace Donald Penn on the left side.
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported that the Raiders are interested in Miller, and with the first of two first-round picks, they get their man to help protect quarterback Derek Carr.
Miller will need more time to polish his game, but he'll be serviceable in 2018 on the right side.
