The Mets announced Saturday Harvey would be taken out of the rotation to make room for Jason Vargas, per James Wagner of the New York Times. The news came after he allowed six runs and eight hits in a 12-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves Thursday.
He has allowed four runs or more in each of the last three starts and has a 6.00 ERA, 1.429 WHIP and an 0-2 record in four appearances. The former All-Star also struggled last season with a 6.70 ERA in 19 appearances.
Considering Harvey has never been afraid to speak his mind, there was no reason to expect much different after the recent demotion.
