Jimmy Butler Sends Jersey, Shoes to Fan Who Signed Him Up for Fantasy League
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jimmy Butler recently took a prank in stride and gave members of a fantasy basketball league something to talk about for a lifetime.
According to Sam Amick of USA Today, Sheldon Jack Bowen of Visalia, California, jokingly used the phone number that Butler famously gave out during his introductory press conference with the T'Wolves last offseason in a fantasy basketball group chat.
While Butler changed his number shortly after giving it out, Bowen sent the following message to Butler on Twitter as a rib: "@JimmyButler hey when you gave your number on sportscenter, I signed you up for my fantasy basketball league and you lost. You owe 20 dollars if you can pay that would be great. Let me know bruh."
Bowen was contacted by Butler's agent, Bernie Lee, who asked for his address.
Shortly thereafter, Bowen received a $20 bill, a Butler jersey and a pair of game-used Air Jordan sneakers signed by Butler.
While the fantasy season is over for Bowen and his friends, Butler is still in the thick of things as his Timberwolves trail 2-0 in their first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets.
