
Indians vs. Twins to Be Played in Puerto Rico Despite Island-Wide Blackout
Despite an island-wide blackout, the scheduled game between the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins in San Juan, Puerto Rico, will be played Wednesday.
According to ABC News, it is expected to take between 24 and 36 hours for power to be restored.
San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz tweeted that the game would go on as scheduled after testing emergency systems at Hiram Bithorn Stadium:

She added that tower lights will be placed in the parking lot, while four patrol cars and 21 motorcycles will be brought in for security purposes.
Major League Baseball confirmed to Jill Martin of CNN in a statement that the game will be played.
"We have backup generators," MLB said. "Game is on as scheduled."
Wednesday's contest is scheduled to be played at 7 p.m. ET.
On Tuesday, the Indians beat the Twins 6-1. Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is from Caguas, Puerto Rico, contributed with a two-run home run.
Forty-seven MLB regular-season games were played in Puerto Rico prior to Tuesday's contest, but none had taken place since 2010.
