HBO released a trailer Wednesday for an upcoming documentary series following Serena Williams titled Being Serena, which is set to air May 2.

The series appears to focus on Williams' recent pregnancy. She first announced she was pregnant in April 2017 and gave birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia, last September.

Williams won the 2017 Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant, something her sister, Venus, referenced in the trailer, joking she was at a two-on-one disadvantage in the Australian Open final.

In a January interview with Vogue's Rob Haskell, Williams recounted the number of complications she experienced from her pregnancy, which is why she was out of action for over a year.

Williams said doctors found blood clots in her lungs that left her short of breath at times. The incision from her C-section also opened, at which point doctors discovered a hematoma that had formed in her abdomen. Williams remained in her bed for six weeks after giving birth.

The 36-year-old didn't return to the court until the 2018 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, last month. She reached the third round before losing in straight sets to Venus.

Williams' coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, told the New York Times' Christopher Clarey she's set to have a limited schedule this year that includes the three remaining Grand Slam events: the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open.
