Mets off to Best 10-Game Start in Franchise History After Win vs. Marlins
The New York Mets wasted little time putting last season's 70-92 effort in the rearview mirror.
New York moved to 9-1 on the 2018 campaign Tuesday with an 8-6 victory over the Miami Marlins, and it represents the best start in franchise history. According to SNY, the club surpassed the 1985 and 2006 teams for the honor.
The Mets lost April 1 against the St. Louis Cardinals but have ripped off seven wins in a row since.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
They appeared to be on the verge of long-term contention when a young and talented pitching staff led them to the 2015 World Series. However, after reaching the playoffs in 2016, injuries ravaged their 2017 season.
Noah Syndergaard, Yoenis Cespedes, Matt Harvey, David Wright, Zack Wheeler, Steven Matz and Jeurys Familia were among those Mets who missed large portions of the 2017 schedule.

The Mets have faced what figures to be quality opposition (Cardinals, Washington Nationals) and lower-class clubs (Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins) so far.
Of course, much can change in the next 152 games, but the Mets are far outpacing their projection. For reference, B/R's Joel Reuter pegged the Mets for 80 wins this season in his February predictions.
