WWE Rumors: WrestleMania 34 Segment with The Rock and Elias Was Scrapped
The Rock reportedly won't take part in WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday after discussions about a potential musical segment with WWE Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Jarrett and current Superstar Elias were scrapped.
On Wednesday, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reported WWE moved away from the idea after it was unable to receive a "firm commitment" from the wrestler turned movie star.
During The Rock's wrestling career, one of his most entertaining recurring segments was the Rock Concert. The People's Champion would often sing a series of short songs to degrade his current storyline opponent.

He utilized that unique style of promo during feuds with both John Cena and CM Punk when he returned as a part-time Superstar between 2011 and 2013.
Using that to generate more attention for Elias, who's gained momentum in recent months with a heel singing gimmick, would have been a logical way to integrate The Rock into WrestleMania 34. Adding Jarrett to the segment as he returns to the WWE spotlight this weekend would have been a bonus.
The SI report didn't state whether an interaction between Elias and Jarrett was still on the table.
Looking ahead, WWE has teased a potential feud between The Rock and Triple H during the former's recent appearances on the company's shows. A throwback feud to the Attitude Era would make sense if Rocky can carve out time for consistent TV appearances.
It sounds like those heading to New Orleans for this year's Show of Shows won't get a chance to see The Most Electrifying Man in All of Sports Entertainment, though.
