Reigns, Nakamura Among Big Betting Favorites on WrestleMania 34 Odds

OddsShark.comApr 4, 2018

WWE is set to take over the city of New Orleans on Sunday for WrestleMania 34. The Showcase of the Immortals is stacked with amazing bouts, which is a good thing considering the event will run for seven hours.

With WrestleMania being the biggest event of the wrestling calendar, it makes sense that it offers the biggest opportunities for bettors to earn some cash.

The main event will see Roman Reigns challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship.

Most wrestling fans expect The Big Dog to walk away with the belt, due to the company's affinity for Reigns and the oncoming expiration of Lesnar's contract with WWE.

Oddsmakers are no different. Reigns is a huge -1200 favorite (wager $1,200 to win $100) to claim the gold on the WrestleMania 34 odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

Though Reigns may not be fully over with fans, it would be nice to see the top titleholder in the company appear on television more than once every two or three months as is the case with The Beast Incarnate.

Over on Smackdown, Shinsuke Nakamura is a -415 favorite to win his first WWE Championship when he challenges AJ Styles (+295).

Many hardcore fans will remember the iconic match The Artist and The Phenomenal One put on at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 10, the last match Styles would have in Japan before joining WWE.

Nakamura should get his crowning moment at WrestleMania, a chance to finally prove he is a legitimate main event Superstar in WWE. This bout will be in the running for "best of the night" and could supply the company with its first main roster five-star match in years.

Plenty of eyes will also be on Ronda Rousey as she makes her professional wrestling debut.

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion will team with Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle to take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in a tag team affair. Rousey and the Raw general manager enter the match as sizable -530 favorites with The Authority coming back at +350.

Though nobody really expects Rousey to lose her first match in WWE, the interesting thing to watch will be how she performs in the squared circle.

Rousey seems interested in being in WWE for the long haul, but we have seen little actual action from her in the ring so far—and the bits we have seen have been far from great.
