Kevin Kiermaier Says He Won't Cover Body in Vaseline to Keep Warm vs. Yankees
Tampa Rays center fielder Kevin Kiermaier has decided against an unusual strategy to combat the cold and wind during Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees.
According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Kiermaier was planning on using Vaseline across his entire body to protect himself against the wind. However, Kiermaier tweeted Tuesday he "forgot to put it on" and will instead wear two undershirts to keep warm.
According to Weather.com, it is supposed to be 40 degrees with a 5 percent chance of precipitation around first pitch at 4 p.m. ET in Bronx, New York, where Yankee Stadium is located.
