
Jim Kelly's Daughter Provides Update on Dad After Surgery in Instagram Post
The daughter of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly provided an update on Kelly's health Sunday as he recovers from surgery for oral cancer.
Erin Kelly-Bean first shared a photo of a written message from Kelly and included a brief video of Kelly walking around the hallway of the hospital with the aid of a walker.
Doctors determined Kelly was cancer-free in September 2014 after he was initially diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. In addition to chemotherapy, Kelly had a portion of his jaw removed.

He announced March 1 his cancer had returned. ESPN.com's Mike Rodak reported Thursday that Kelly underwent a 12-hour surgical procedure to remove the cancer. According to Rodak, doctors also "[took] part of Kelly's fibula and blood vessels from his leg to rebuild his upper jaw."
