Adam Jones Slugs Walk-Off Home Run to Give Orioles Opening Day Win vs. Twins
March 29, 2018
The Baltimore Orioles really know how to send their fans home happy on Opening Day.
Baltimore blew a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning and failed to cash in on a bases-loaded, one-out situation in the 10th. However, when All-Star Adam Jones stepped to the plate to lead off the the bottom of the 11th, he sent the first from Twins closer Fernando Rodney—who was summoned in the previous inning to wiggle out of trouble—over the left-field wall:
Jones was 0-for-4 in the game entering that plate appearance, but his first hit of the season gave his team a 3-2 victory.
Oddly enough, it marked the third straight season the Orioles walked it off on Opening Day.
