Eduardo Nunez had an exciting start to his 2018 season as the Boston Red Sox second baseman hit an inside-the-park home run in his first at-bat:
In the second inning of Thursday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field, Nunez hit a fly ball to the gap between center fielder Kevin Kiermaier and left fielder Denard Span. Nunez showcased his speed from there, coming all the way around for a two-run home run.

Per Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston, it was his second career inside-the-park home run.
Kiermaier is one of the game's best defensive players, having earned two Gold Gloves in center field, but he was shading to the batter's right before the play, which gave him a long way to run. Meanwhile, Span had spent almost his entire career in center before shifting to left this season.
Both players went all-out for the ball, and it led to a two-run mistake.
