Rey Mysterio's potential WWE return reportedly could happen on the Grandest Stage of Them All at WrestleMania 34.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, WWE CEO Vince McMahon is "strongly considering" signing Mysterio to a short-term deal so he can work WrestleMania.

If Mysterio and WWE come to terms, the Master of the 619 may be utilized as Braun Strowman's mystery tag team partner in his Raw Tag Team Championship match against The Bar.

WWE has plenty of options with regard to Strowman's partner, including Elias or a bevy of Superstars who could soon return from injury, such as Samoa Joe, Dean Ambrose or Big Cass.

Per Joseph Currier of F4WOnline, Mysterio is recovering from a partially torn left biceps suffered March 2 during a match for Northeast Wrestling.

The injury caused him to sit out his match at Sunday's New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Style Evolved show in Long Beach, California, where he was scheduled to face Jushin "Thunder" Liger.

Mysterio appeared at the show, though, and said he would eventually compete for New Japan. A match with Will Ospreay seems likely since Ospreay challenged him after facing Liger.

At the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January, Mysterio made a one-night-only return to WWE as a surprise entrant in the men's Rumble match.

WrestleMania 34 will take place in New Orleans on April 8.
