WWE WrestleMania 2018 Rumors: Top Reports on Brock Lesnar, John Cena and More

Rob BlanchetteMar 28, 2018

As WrestleMania 34 approaches, Brock Lesnar has the upper hand as he prepares to face Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship on The Grandest Stage of Them All on April 8.

A brutal attack on Monday Night Raw saw The Beast pummel The Big Dog once again, and Reigns will have to battle to be at full health for WWE's showpiece in New Orleans.

However, the main event could be Lesnar's last appearance in WWE.

According to Wrestling Inc (h/t Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats), Lesnar could make his final showing for the company shortly as his contract expires.

The former UFC heavyweight champion is not scheduled to appear for WWE after WrestleMania, with the fighter having the opportunity to move on or sign a new deal.

The 40-year-old has been pure box office for the company since beginning his second stint in WWE in 2012, and the organisation will miss the man who has made Suplex City his calling card.

Lesnar's exit could mean Reigns will be entrusted to be the face of the company, but The Shield member has failed to get fully over in arenas across the world.

Per News18.com, WWE executive Triple H conceded he was unsure what would happen next with Lesnar.

"To be honest I really don't have anything to share in this conversation and we'll see where it goes," he said. "Brock is Brock, he's an interesting guy to be with, makes it challenging which is always wonderful and we're working on it. We'll see where that goes as time goes on."

John Cena should get his wish to face The Undertaker at WrestleMania, as the two legends appear ready to collide in New Orleans.

According to Ortman, the pair will battle each other, with the news set to be confirmed on the next episode of Raw.

Cena has been left without a storyline of substance in recent times, but a fight with The Deadman is perfect, as the company's veterans square off in a titanic affair.

The Cenation Leader appears to have lost direction in the past 12 months, but WWE is under no illusions fans would want to see him face Undertaker in a one-off match.

In other WWE news, Wrestling Observer Radio's Dave Meltzer (h/t Pratyay Ghosh of Wrestle Zone) said Shane McMahon will miss WrestleMania, as the company decides what path to take with the returning Daniel Bryan.

Bryan issued a challenge on behalf of himself and McMahon to face Zayn and Owens at WrestleMania on Tuesday's edition of SmackDown. However, if the SmackDown commissioner misses the event, Bryan could still be involved in tag action against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, with Chris Jericho touted as a potential partner, per Ghosh.

The return of the SmackDown general manager as a wrestler will give WWE plenty of options after the April showpiece, but they will need to give a him a storyline to reflect his popularity and status.

With only days left on the Road to WrestleMania, more shocks and surprises are guaranteed before the final card is confirmed by WWE.
