Floyd Mayweather and Big Show's Most Memorable Matches, Moments at WrestleMania

Rob BlanchetteMar 27, 2018

The Big Show has been one of wrestling's most feared athletes, sweeping to championships in multiple organisations.

He remains the only man to be a world champion in WWE, WCW and ECW, but his record at WrestleMania has fluctuated.

Show's biggest moment on the Grandest Stage of Them All came against boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr. at WrestleMania 24.

The pair crossed swords in a collision of sports, with Mayweather coming out on top with a knockout.

Here, we take a look at the Big Show's finest moments at Vince McMahon's showcase event with April 8's WrestleMania 34 just around the corner.

Floyd Mayweather Defeats Big Show with Knockout

Mayweather's emergence in WWE was a surprise to boxing fans, but a big WrestleMania payout seemingly proved too much to turn down.

The two first clashed at No Way Out after Big Show attacked Rey Mysterio after the latter lost his world heavyweight title match against Edge, taunting Mayweather as he did so. Sitting ringside, Mayweather jumped the barricade to confront Big Show, who disrespectfully knelt to allow the much smaller boxer to punch him. Mayweather delivered a flurry of strikes, drawing blood before quickly departing the arena with Big Show in pursuit.

A WrestleMania challenge was issued, and Mayweather accepted. The variation in size was comical, but the two showed a range of styles in the No Disqualification Match, including the boxer jumping on the big man's back and sinking in a sleeper hold.

However, it was Money who had the last laugh, hitting his opponent with a chair and laying the Big Show out for a 10-count after landing a shot with a pair of brass knuckles.

Big Show Beats Cody Rhodes for Intercontinental Crown at WrestleMania XXVIII

Despite a disappointing win record at WrestleMania, the Big Show has collected golden moments on the night.

Cody Rhodes was the Intercontinental Champion heading into WrestleMania XXVIII, with Show the challenger at the Sun Life Stadium.

Rhodes mocked his opponent in the run-up to their title fight, highlighting his poor record at 'Mania.

However, Big Show was to gain revenge for Rhodes' words, stealing away his title after landing his now-famous knockout punch.

It was a sign of how much respect Big Show had earned that he was granted an individual title-winning moment at WrestleMania.

Big Show and Kane Retain Tag Titles at WrestleMania 22

The Big Show and Kane formed one of WWE's most feared tag teams in 2006, and the pair quickly gained title glory in the build-up to WrestleMania 22.

Carlito and Chris Masters were awarded the unenviable task of taking on the giants in 2006 and put on a valiant performance, but the size of the champions always allowed them the edge.

A military press by the Big Show on Carlito gave his team the advantage in the closing stages, and a huge Double Chokeslam on Masters saw the titles retained as expected.

ShoMiz Hold on to Unified Tag Belts at WrestleMania XXVI

4 of 4

As unified WWE tag champions, the Big Show and Miz gave Vince McMahon a superstar duo to hold the belts in 2010.

The pair defended the gold against John Morrison and R-Truth at WrestleMania XXVI, opening the night of action in Arizona.

The four men gave a thunderous performance to get the crowd hyped. The challengers were worthy of their billing, targeting The Miz throughout.

Morrison's athletic move set provided fireworks, but the Big Show caught him with a surprise knockout punch to stop him in his tracks.

The three-count was a formality, and the Big Show administered the pin to retain the gold.
