Here Come The Phillies!

As another year passes the Philadelphia Phillies are yet again back into the fall classic and are the team to beat right now.

They have pitching, they have hitting, they have everything clicking at the most pivotal point in the playoffs.

I'm guessing the Yankees might have something to say about that once they finish off the Angels.

To see this team make it back to the world series is a feat in its own. Since 1980 only two teams have repeated as champs. The 92-93 Blue Jays and the 98-00 Yankees.

This Phillies team to me is different. They aren't all business like, like the Yankees. They have fun. They are a team that looks to be on the verge of a dynasty. Combining young pitching, power hitters, and an eclectic home crowd the Phillies could possibly be in the world series for a few more years to come.

This year they added two magnificent veteran pitchers to back up their rotation. Cliff Lee had a Cy Young type of year and Pedro Martinez still can put the fear into any opposing batters.These signings could not only help this team for this season but possibly for a few more seasons down the road.

Looking at this starting lineup that the Phillies can throw out on any given night should scare the living hell out of any American league team, especially the Yankees.

Yes, everyone knows how stacked the Yankees are but can C.C. really pitch like he did Tuesday night on three days rest? Maybe, maybe not.That will most likely be the biggest key for the Yankees once the world series begins.

If the pitching of the Yankees can continue to throw an outstanding game, then i'm certain all of the world will be in for quite the showing. Baseball certainly needs this series to be the series of all series, both for the popularity standpoint and the economics of the game.

In the end I think that whatever team decides to step up and win deserves it, but I will most definitely be rooting for the Phillies to once again be crowned the world series champions.
