John Wall Reportedly Will Return from Knee Injury, Surgery vs. Hornets
The Washington Wizards' title hopes will get a big boost, as star John Wall will make his return from knee surgery on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets, per Chris Miller of NBC Sports Washington.
Wall had been out since Jan. 25.
In 2017-18, the 27-year-old was averaging 19.4 points, 9.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game before being sidelined by the injury.
Without its All-Star point guard, Washington managed to hang around in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff race, currently sitting in sixth place with a record of 41-34. A career year out of Bradley Beal has helped minimize Wall's absence.
Even though the Wizards won nine of their first 11 games after Wall went down, they need the one-two punch of Wall and Beal in order to be legitimate contenders. The guard's return is welcomed, even if it takes some time for him to get back into the flow on the court.
