Another Week of the UFL: Week Two Review

Because here at www.NFLHouse.com we feel this league has a chance to blossom down the road, we will be your top source for the UFL season.

As seen in this article and in future articles, we will go over first a quick recap of the two games per week.

Also, we will including a player tracker with some notable names. These names include former NFL starters, notable rotational guys, former college greats, and some names that you may not have heard of but will be exemplified through this league.

Florida Tuskers vs. Las Vegas Locomotives

A match-up of the two top quarterbacks in this league was probably the thought of top game of the season thus far. While it wasn’t a Brees-Peyton Manning-like shootout, both quarterbacks had solid passing days.

Brooks Bollinger started hot and struck first in the game, leading an 80-yard drive to start the game, ending on a 5-yard toss to Frank Murphy.

JP Losman had a chance to redeem his team after Bollinger's opening drive, but was unable to get anything going for his offense. The Tuskers tacked on three more field goals by former Tampa Bay Buc kicker Matt Bryant and led at halftime 16-0.

The third quarter wasn’t much better for the Locos, as Losman didn’t lead his team to a scoring drive the entire quarter, and Bollinger again tossed a TD pass to Charlie Gessner towards the end of the quarterback, giving the Tuskers a 22-0 lead after the failed two- point attempt.

Finally, in the fourth, the Locos got some points on the board…a safety. Losman finally threw two TD passes in the fourth that didn’t affect the actual chance of winning, while Bollinger also threw another TD.

This game was lead by the defenses, with a total of eight sacks in the game. Still, these teams will be known for their passing offenses, as they boast the best in the league.

Florida 29-15 Las Vegas

Brooks Bollinger, Florida – 24-32, 310 yards, 3 TDs

Odell Thurman, Florida – 5 tckls, 6.5 TOT, 1 Sack for 11 yards

W Dada, Las Vegas – 6 tckls, 9 TOT

California Redwoods vs. New York Sentinels

A new quarterback debuted for the UFL, former NFL player Mike McMahon. And while he didn’t play too well in this game, he did pull out a win in front of the home California crowd.

McMahon and the Redwoods struck first with a two-yard touchdown to his tight end, Kai Brown, in the first quarter. Sentinels QB Quinn Gray answered back to start the second quarter with a TD pass of his own.

As the Redwoods were in the red zone late in the first half, Tony Tiller picked off McMahon to keep the game tied at 7-7 going into the second half.

Towards the middle of the third quarter, the Redwoods took advantage of the short field from a solid punt return and McMahon threw a strike to Doug Gabriel to the one-yard line.

Cory Ross then punched in and gave them a 14-7 lead to which would be all they’d need. Ross would finish the game with over 100 yards, the first 100-yard rusher in league history, and boasts this team as having the best rush offense in the UFL.

California 24-7 New York
