Cancer and Sports Part 22: Jayson Is Werth It and We Go to the World Series!
Due to a bad back I missed the first two innings. I awakened to a safe enough lead to watch the game and to a pre cancer Jeff. Voice strong, wide awake and giving me a recap...also going back and forth with friends making up Phillies puns on his Blackberry (thus the title). And the Dodgers pulled their pitcher with bases loaded. Looks like a repeat of last year but too early to call.
We pulled Hamels in the 5th (Jeff predicted the 4th) and Happ was -Happless! Chad Durbin is having a great game and we are still up 6 to 3 bottom of the 6th with Chan Ho Park warming up. Jeff is munching french fries and he is acting like, well, Jeff. If not for the bald head and a pic line, I would not have known he has cancer tonight. Chemo begins Monday and I am counting on the World Series to do its magic. I love watching Jeff's old self strong and excited. With a homer by Victorino the score is 8 to 3 and looks like we are on our way. That means Chemo might be a wee bit easier during the World Series and our Phillies just might be the first team since the Cinci Reds in '75 -'76 to go back to back.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
With this lead, barring any complications, I am safe to take my really bad back to bed and curl up with my husband, watch the game and for a night pretend everything is okay. We are only 6 outs away thanks to Chan Ho Park.
Lidge is back - our bullpen held and away we go!
