Dudley Boyz's Most Memorable Matches, Moments in WrestleMania History

Rob BlanchetteMar 27, 2018

The Dudley Boyz helped WWE elevate their tag division to new heights during their three periods with the company.

Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley are set to be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame for their achievements, as the Road to WrestleMania continues.

The duo remain the only tag team to hold world titles in WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, NWA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, underlining their pedigree as global performers.

With WrestleMania 34 just around the corner on April 8, we take a look at some of the Dudley Boyz's most memorable moments on The Grandest Stage Of Them All.

WrestleMania X-7 Produces the Classic TLC Moment

1 of 4

The pairings the Dudley Boyz had most affinity with were the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian, and the three teams revolutionised the tag division with the innovation of Tables, Ladders & Chairs.

Rather than just being a set of weapons, TLC became an art form, and nobody did it better than the six men involved at WrestleMania X-7.

The main event saw Vince McMahon battle Shane McMahon in a grudge match, but one of the biggest pops of the night came as Edge speared Jeff Hardy from the top of a ladder—as Bubba Ray pulled another ladder away from the centre of the ring with the assist.

The move became an iconic moment in WWE history, and Edge and Jeff Hardy would later become individual world champions after proving their star status.

The Dudley Boyz played a huge part in the battle, but they dropped their world tag titles as Edge and Christian became the new champions.

Dudley Boyz Feature in Fatal Four-Way at WrestleMania X8

The Dudley Boyz have spent their careers entertaining and expanding their repertoire, and the pair were involved in a fatal four-way for the WWE World Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania X8.

Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo were the champions, and they were confronted with a Four Corners Elimination Match in order to retain their crowns.

The Hardy Boyz and the APA made up the numbers, with a stellar lineup of tag specialists in the house.

The encounter was given a high billing by the company, and the Dudley Boyz had immediate success as they eliminated the APA.

D-Von attempted to land a Whassup Headbutt from the top rope, but Gunn intervened, causing him to fly through a table outside of the ring.

The Hardy Boyz then double-teamed Bubba Ray, producing a Swanton Bomb to end the Dudleys' night, but the championships were retained as Gunn hit Jeff Hardy with a title belt, allowing his partner to score the pinfall.

Dudley Boyz Drop Titles to Edge and Christian at WrestleMania 2000

The Dudley Boyz entered WrestleMania 2000 as the world tag team champions, and their titles were left swinging above the ring as they continued their rivalry with the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.

The three teams made TLC matches a special event for fans, and the high-flying nature of their opponents gave them the advantage in the Triangle Ladder Match.

The conclusion of the fight came as Jeff Hardy battled Christian high above the ring on a table balanced between two ladders, as both men threw punches on the shaky platform.

Edge climbed the ladder to support his partner, and seconds later Jeff Hardy had fallen through the table, allowing a free route to the gold.

The titles belonged to Edge and Christian again, with the Dudleys losing their belts at WrestleMania for a second time.

The Dudley Boyz Face the Usos at WrestleMania 32

4 of 4

It was only two years ago that the Dudley Boyz made their last appearance on The Grandest Stage of Them All, when they faced one of the newer breed of tag teams.

The Usos have proved themselves to be serial winners in WWE, and the two stellar partnerships battled in Texas.

The bout featured on a star-studded pre-show, and the Dudleys remained in control as the younger fighters struggled.

However, it turned out to be a bad day for the veterans, as a superkick to the jaw knocked D-Von to the floor, allowing the Usos to capture the win.

The Usos grabbed their WrestleMania moment as they placed Bubba Ray and D-Von on a pair of tables, producing two breathtaking Samoan Splashes to end their night.
