Players to Watch During Combine Workouts

Day 1: Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State

We are already convinced that Barkley is the second coming at the running back position, but we'll have an opportunity to see up close just how special Barkley is.

Even former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn has come out to praise Barkley as the most talented player in this draft.

According to Josh Moyer of Centre Daily Times, Barkley put up crazy numbers (in relation to the combine) while still in college: 4.33-second 40, a 38-inch vertical, a broad jump of 10.10 and 30 bench presses.

If those numbers hold true for the combine, the Internet might explode from amazement.

Barkley is one of the players that will entertain you throughout this process, no matter what.

Day 2: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville

The quarterback position this year presents far more questions than answers. Each guy has a different thing he brings to the table, and also presents some faults.

However, one guy that sticks out from a purely athletic standpoint is Jackson.

Love him or hate him, say he's a wide receiver, the former Heisman trophy winner presents Michael Vick-like athletic ability.

He's improved as a pocket-passing quarterback, so there will be a million set of eyes on Jackson when he throws at the combine.

We know Jackson will run well, but his lower body mechanics plus his throwing drills at the combine warrant you to tune in to this day of the combine alone.

How do you feel Jackson will perform?

Day 3: Tremaine Edmunds, LB, Virginia Tech

If you haven't heard of Edmunds, you will after Day 3 of the combine.

Edmunds might be a little raw, but standing 6'5" and weighing 250 pounds, his physical ability is going to captivate NFL teams.

And at the combine, expect teams to drool even more over him.

When Khalil Mack came out of the University at Buffalo, he was considered a little raw and look at him today.

When it's all said and done, it would be a disappointment if Edmunds wasn't one of the best overall testers throughout the day.

Day 4: Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State

Slated to go as perhaps the first cornerback off the board, Ward will look to prove that his size and frame will not impact him when defending more physical receivers on the outside.

Ward has been on teams with two other former first-round cornerbacks in Gareon Conley and Marshon Lattimore, so it was easy to overlook Ward, but he proved in college that his athletic ability is nothing short of elite.

Testing wise, Ward should do fine, but a question that will linger in the minds of NFL teams whether or not he can play outside and is strictly an inside guy.

Either way, Ward will be an instant starter at the position and produce from day one.

Get ready for his 40-yard dash time—it's expected to be among the best.
