Stephanie McMahon's Most Memorable Performances in WrestleMania History
Although she has never had an official match at the event, Stephanie McMahon has often made her presence felt at WrestleMania.
WWE has almost completely erased the concept of managers accompanying wrestlers to ringside, but McMahon has remained a fixture next to husband Triple H. As a result, she has been involved in a number of marquee encounters at WrestleMania.
In some cases, McMahon's role was minimal; in others, however, she was pivotal in the result of a match—whether by plan or accident.
Here's a look at McMahon's most memorable moments at The Showcase of the Immortals.
WrestleMania 2000: A McMahon in Every Corner
1 of 7The main event of WrestleMania 2000 famously featured a McMahon in every corner, as a separate member of the McMahon family supported The Big Show, The Rock, Triple H and Mick Foley.
Vince McMahon was ultimately the most important McMahon in the match, as he turned on The Rock and hit him with multiple steel chair shots to allow Triple H to get the pinfall and retain the WWF Championship.
After the match, The Rock retaliated by hitting the Rock Bottom on Vince and Shane McMahon. Stephanie confronted The Rock and slapped him, resulting in her receiving a Rock Bottom as well.
While Stephanie's role in this match was more passive than active, it's fun to go back and see the formative stages when she was becoming a consistent on-screen character in WWE programming.
WrestleMania X-Seven: Trish Runs off Stephanie
2 of 7This is likely a match the McMahon family would like to forget. The story included a comatose Linda McMahon, Vince kissing Trish Stratus in front of said comatose wife and Vince making Stratus get on all fours and bark like a dog.
The angle culminated with Vince's battle against son Shane at WrestleMania X-Seven.
The match included Stratus wheeling Linda to ringside, a fight between Stratus and Stephanie and Linda standing up from her wheelchair to kick Vince in the groin.
It says something Linda's opponent in the 2012 Republican Senate primary brought up this storyline when campaigning against her.
WrestleMania X8: Triple H Delivers the Pedigree to Stephanie
3 of 7Two years after being in Triple H's corner when he defended the WWF Championship, McMahon was opposing her husband at WrestleMania X8.
The story was largely about the acrimonious kayfabe separation between the real-life couple, with then-champion Chris Jericho more of an afterthought. There's a reason this is considered one of the more disappointing WrestleMania main events in recent memory.
The most famous moment from the match was arguably when Triple H delivered the Pedigree to McMahon before going on to defeat Jericho.
WrestleMania XXX: Stephanie Tries to Thwart Daniel Bryan's Title Climb
4 of 7With the rise of The Authority, McMahon started to really find a comfort zone by emulating her father. By becoming an evil tyrant alongside Triple H, she showed a level of charisma she hadn't displayed for the bulk of her WWE career.
McMahon's promo calling Daniel Bryan a "B-plus player" after SummerSlam 2013 was so effective, especially because she didn't need to be over the top and boisterous to get her point across.
Her and Triple H's attempts to halt Bryan's rise to the top of WWE continued through WrestleMania XXX, even after Bryan defeated Triple H in the opening match of the show.
McMahon slapped Bryan multiple times, which allowed Triple H to attack him with a steel chair following the match. Then, in the main event, McMahon and Triple H intervened to try to get referee Scott Armstrong to screw Bryan over. Bryan hit a suicide dive on all three to take them out before going on to recapture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
WrestleMania 31: Steph Meets Ronda
5 of 7Years before she formally signed with the company, WWE teased a match involving McMahon and Ronda Rousey during a segment at WrestleMania 31.
The Rock was jawing with McMahon and Triple H before Rousey hopped the ringside barricade to join the fray.
McMahon bit off more than she could chew when she confronted Rousey after the former UFC women's bantamweight champion hip-tossed Triple H out of the ring. Rousey blocked an attempted slap by McMahon and teased putting her in an armbar before letting her leave the ring.
The embarrassment The Authority suffered at the hands of The Rock and Rousey was the start of a story that will ultimately culminate with Triple H and McMahon teaming up to take on Rousey and Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 34 on April 8.
WrestleMania 32: Stephanie Helps Triple H Make an Entrance
6 of 7Unfortunately, the video above only shows Triple H's entrance at WrestleMania 32. It doesn't include the portion in which McMahon channeled a villain from a Mad Max movie and proclaimed The Authority were "the absolute power," with members of the WWE Universe essentially voiceless sheep.
It was unquestionably one of the highlights from WrestleMania 32, even if it hit a little too close to home for people who believe those with power at WWE aren't listening to what the fans want.
McMahon got her comeuppance later in the main event, when Roman Reigns inadvertently speared her, effectively taking her out of the match. She recovered enough to hand Triple H a sledgehammer, but even The Authority was powerless to prevent Reigns from winning the world title.
WrestleMania 33: McMahon Goes Through a Table
7 of 7McMahon's bad luck continued into WrestleMania 33, when Triple H was wrestling Seth Rollins.
She climbed on to the ring apron to try to hold Rollins for a clothesline by Triple H. Rollins ducked out of the way, and while Triple H didn't land the clothesline on his wife, Rollins superkicked him—the momentum of which knocked Triple H into McMahon and put her through a table at ringside.
With Triple H's anger clouding his judgment, he didn't think to prepare for a counter to Rollins' attempted Pedigree. Rollins hit the move to pick up the win.
