The NBA's All-Star Saturday Night tipped off with the Skills Challenge at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For the third consecutive year, the bracket-style competition pitted four big men against four guards.

Chicago Bulls rookie Lauri Markkanen stole the show for the bigs, knocking off Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in the frontcourt finals.

But Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie took home the trophy with a convincing victory over Markkanen in the finals.

Dinwiddie's win snapped a two-year losing streak for the guards after Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks and Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves each won the event.

Patrick Beverley, then with the Houston Rockets, was the last guard to win (2015).
