Nia Jax's WWE Raw Opponent Vanessa Floyd Is 17-Year Old High School Student

Tyler ConwayFeb 6, 2018

Nia Jax had a short squash match during this week's Monday Night Raw program, which isn't that notable by itself. Jax has a history of short squashes throughout her WWE career.

Never once, however, had she squashed a 17-year-old before Monday. Billed as Vanessa Floyd by WWE, Jax's opponent was high school student Savanna Stone, who works on the independent circuit as Zero1 USA's women's champion.

Stone has trained under Mike Elgin and has worked in multiple independent promotions, recently being booked at the National Wrasslin' League in January.

Her WWE debut could have gone far better, as she barely got in any offense while being dominated by the larger Jax.

That said, there's a history of future WWE Superstars getting their start as lesser-known jobbers. Dean Ambrose, Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are among the competitors who made their WWE debuts as lesser-knowns before eventually making a name for themselves in the company.
