Zambrano Equals Manny

We can only hope the Cubs are paying attention to what’s transpired with Manny’s arrival in Hollywood.

Despite Philadelphia’s 3-1 series lead in the NLCS, the Dodgers’ over-hyped, over-paid knucklehead is once again the headliner and for all the wrong reasons, of course.

Instead of enduring L.A.’s tough loss in Game 4 with his teammates on the bench, Manny gets caught showering in the clubhouse before the end of the game.

And in typical fashion, the Dodgers’ entire organization covered for him…again.

Yahoo! Sports columnist Jeff Passan sums up it up best:

To allow Ramirez to so willfully co-opt everything for which they stand with his blatant disregard for the Dodgers’ well-being is a sign of misplaced priorities.

Indeed, the same misplaced priorities Manny showed in Cleveland and later grew into legendary proportions with Boston. So what else could we expect in Los Angeles, right?

I’m not saying this isn’t a story, but for heaven’s sakes, it’s not the story!

There’s so much more to this series than Manny’s unprofessional, yet predictable, behavior.

What about the domination of Cliff Lee and Ryan Howard? Or how about about the fightin’ Phils never-say-die team attitude?

And that’s just the start.

On the contrary, however, you can’t feel sorry for the Dodgers.

They knowing paid to danced with Devil, the same way the Cubs tapped Milton Bradley on the shoulder.

Although the Cubs have rid itself of Bradley for the time being, there must be a growing concern with the selfishness displayed by Carlos Zambrano.

If Chicago fails to curtail Big Z’s path of destruction they’re no better than the Dodgers’ apologetic approach to Ramirez.

And when you refuse to hold every player accountable, you choose not to win championships, plain and simple.

There’s no reason for the Cubs not to know this, Manny and the Dodgers have proved it.
