Atlanta's John Collins Throws Down Monster Alley-Oop vs. Hornets

Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins nearly blew the roof off Philips Arena late in the first quarter of Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. 

With under 2:15 to play in the period, Atlanta's Dewayne Dedmon lobbed a pass toward the rim as Collins raced past the final defender in the paint. 

Dedmon's alley-oop fell slightly short of the intended destination, but Collins soared high, retrieved the ball and deposited it into the basket with a dunk-of-the-year candidate that floored some of his teammates watching from the bench. 

The 20-year-old may not produce a better highlight throughout the rest of his rookie season.
