Conor McGregor Responds to Floyd Mayweather Stepping into MMA Cage
Floyd Mayweather drew Conor McGregor's attention by stepping into the cage.
Whether foreshadowing a future fight or simply teasing his Twitter followers, the boxer posted a video Tuesday where he walks into and paces inside an MMA ring.
McGregor, who lost his first professional boxing fight against the undefeated Mayweather last August, responded.
He later used foul language directed at Mayweather to caption a picture of him and his young son. [Warning: NSFW language]
Without any words to accompany Mayweather's post, everyone can only insert their own interpretation. Even before McGregor's retort, onlookers would have likely wondered about a rematch.
The previous day, Mayweather rehashed his boxing victory.
An MMA match might be even more unnecessary than their first encounter. Of course the UFC star would beat a previously retired 40-year-old boxer in his area of specialty.
Yet the two boisterous fighters would again make a fortune from meeting in another setting.
