Joel Berry Says Ted Valentine Apologized to Him Before Georgia Tech Game
North Carolina Tar Heels guard Joel Berry II said he received an apology from official Ted Valentine prior to UNC's 80-66 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday, according to ESPN.com.
Valentine apologized for theatrically turning his back on Berry during a game between North Carolina and Florida State on Jan. 3. At the time, Berry had been trying to engage Valentine in a discussion on a non-call.
SportsCenter tweeted video of the incident, which came after Berry had his arm held while trying to receive a pass:

ESPN.com added: "Berry told reporters that he didn't think it was a big deal, but appreciated Valentine's apology."
The No. 15 Tar Heels improved to 16-4 with Saturday's win, and Berry finished with 16 points and eight rebounds in the triumph.
