Trae Young, Oklahoma's star freshman, came into the Bedlam game against Oklahoma State averaging 29.5 points per contest and dropped a career-high 48 at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater on Saturday.
The Cowboys led 42-30 after the first half, but the Sooners battled back in the following 20 minutes to send it to overtime. Oklahoma State sealed the deal in the extra frame for an 83-81 victory.
Young played 43 minutes, shot 14-of-39 from the field, nailed eight from three-point land and dished out eight assists in a competitive matchup between the Big 12 rivals.
