Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City Reportedly Eyeing Jean Michael Seri

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly all interested in Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri, who has also caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the Guardian's Ed Aarons, City have made progress in their pursuit of the 26-year-old but are set to face competition from United:

Meanwhile, according to The Sun's Warren Haughton (h/t MailOnline's Glen Williams), Chelsea are also keen to enter the fray amid interest from PSG, as Antonio Conte wants to add to his central-midfield options with Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater yet to set Stamford Bridge alight.

Seri stood out at Nice last season thanks to his superb distribution and creativity, per Squawka Football:

According to Squawka, he also found the net seven times in Ligue 1 last year and completed 33 of the 39 take-ons he attempted.

The Ivory Coast international has often played in a slightly deeper role this season and has only found the net once, but he has still managed to contribute five assists in all competitions.

While he may not be much of a ball-winner, Seri is an energetic and hardworking presence in the engine room and his end product is clear to see.

He was on the verge of joining Barcelona in the summer before the deal fell through. French football writer Rich Allen believes that has had a negative impact on his form but believes he could get back to his best with a move:

Seri's £35 million buyout clause would be achievable for all four teams interested, so it's likely to come down to the deals and projects on offer as to who he joins.

Chelsea get the majority of their creativity from Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, while United are similarly reliant on Paul Pogba to make things happen, so he would be a valuable addition at either Stamford Bridge or Old Trafford.

City have less need for him and he would perhaps get less game time as Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva are the chief creators in their side, but they are on course to win the Premier League and manager Pep Guardiola could offer the most exciting venture.

There's plenty to be gained at all three of the Premier League sides or French giants PSG, though, so he could conceivably choose any of them.
