Bruce Arians 'Just Messin' About Nick Saban Coaching Giants, Says Jay Glazer

Rob GoldbergJan 10, 2018

A day after Bruce Arians said Nick Saban would consider leaving Alabama to go to the New York Giants, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer discovered it was nothing more than a joke.

Glazer posted a story on Instagram that explained, "Arians said he was just messin w the world about #nickSaban to the @nygiants."

On Tuesday, Arians said on The Herd with Colin Cowherd that the Giants' opening is a job Saban "covets."

"When we grew up, they were the thing," the former Cardinals coach said of the Giants.

However, it appears Arians told the truth "after a few vodkas," as Glazer described it.

The odds Saban would leave Alabama for the NFL were long anyway, especially considering his success in college. The coach now has six national titles, which ties him with Bear Bryant for the most all time, including five in the last nine years with the Crimson Tide.

He is 132-20 in his 11 years at Alabama and once again has a talented team coming back that should be among the favorites to win the national championship.

On the other hand, he struggled in his brief stint as an NFL head coach, tallying just a 15-17 record in two years with the Miami Dolphins.

Although there is always a possibility he takes another position, it doesn't appear likely the 66-year-old will head to New York.
