Barcelona Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Arda Turan and Denis Suarez
Arda Turan is reportedly close to securing a move from Barcelona to Turkish Super Lig leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
According to Ozgur Sancar of AS, "Turkish media are reporting" that Basaksehir are preparing to present Turan at their winter base, and Barca are ready to accept a deal that will see them continue to pay 50 per cent of the out-of-favour playmaker's wages.
Sancar added Turkey international Turan has previously insisted he would only return to his homeland to play again for boyhood club Galatasaray, with whom he was linked back in the summer:
But it is now Basaksehir who look to be leading the race to snap up the 30-year-old midfielder.
Turan has not featured at all for Barcelona under new manager Ernesto Valverde in 2017-18.
It is quite clear that he is surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou, and his disappointing Barcelona career looks set to end in the current transfer window.
Turan joined the Catalan club back in 2015 after a hugely successful spell at Atletico Madrid but he has never managed to nail down a regular starting spot.
He still has plenty of talent, though, which could make him a major asset for Basaksehir as they continue their campaign for a maiden Super Lig title.

Meanwhile, Serie A leaders Napoli are reportedly "desperate" to sign Barca midfielder Denis Suarez.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via Sport), the Italian outfit have launched a move for Suarez that would see them sign him on loan in the current window before a permanent switch in the summer, but Barca have "rebuffed Napoli's initial proposal."
Suarez, 24, has played a bigger role for Barca this season than Turan but has still been largely a back-up—of his 10 La Liga appearances in 2017-18 seven have been from the bench.
Barcelona have just signed Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, as reported by BBC Sport, meaning the Spaniard's role is likely to be even further limited in the second half of the season, and Napoli are likely hoping Suarez will be open to a move as a result.
