NFL Power Rankings Week 17: Latest Standings, Team Records and More
The NFL doesn't have a Thursday or Monday night game planned for Week 17—it's an all-or-nothing slate on Sunday for those playoff teams still hoping to make the cut or influence standings.
As such, the Sunday assault of action throughout the day includes what is bound to be some of the best divisional action of the season. Games such as Jacksonville-Tennessee and New Orleans-Tampa Bay, among many others, offer contests with interesting angles and implications.
For now, the power rankings remain stagnant ahead of the drama. Fans who have attended this rodeo before know the drill—spoilers will skew the rankings and have a large impact on how the postseasons unfolds.

Philadelphia Eagles
Look at the Philadelphia Eagles go. Even after losing Carson Wentz for the season, the team has rallied around backup Nick Foles and rattled off two wins in a row.
Granted, one game was against the lowly New York Giants. Foles then turned around and led the Eagles to a 19-10 victory over the Oakland Raiders. It would be wrong to suggest Foles carried the team by any means, but a ho-hum day made it possible for the Eagles to pick off Derek Carr twice on the way to the win.
As such, many, including former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, seem to think an improvement is on the way from Foles as he gets his feet under him:
The Eagles are now a 13-win team as they keep rolling into a season-ending game against the Dallas Cowboys, but the objective there should be staying healthy more than anything else. The last time the two met, the Cowboys didn't put up much of a fight in the 37-9 Eagles win.
Thanks to a defense allowing just 19.3 points per game and still finding ways to scratch and claw out major wins, the Eagles still look like a Super Bowl contender despite missing an MVP candidate.
Carolina Panthers
It seems easy to overlook the Carolina Panthers.
Already assured a playoff berth, the Panthers quietly have one of the better resumes in the league as the calendar turns to the playoffs. Cam Newton and Co. have won three consecutive games going into Week 17, one of those being a triumph over the stellar Minnesota Vikings.
Speaking of marquee wins, this is a Panthers team that has upended the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts, as well as defeated teams such as Detroit and Atlanta. Newton, even after his team traded away a weapon like Kelvin Benjamin, boasts 27 total touchdowns and happens to lead his team in rushing for good measure.
Newton isn't doing it all on his own considering his defense only allows 19.8 points per game. But given the star quarterback's play during the month of December, it can sure feel like he's all alone. Chris Kroeger of PrimetimeWFNZ stressed this point:
The Panthers close the season on the road in Atlanta, where Newton will look to guide his guys to a healthy win.
No matter how one views it, quarterback is the biggest trump card in the postseason. The Panthers are there, and Newton's resume speaks for itself, meaning his side shouldn't fly under the radar much longer.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are AFC South champions and sit alongside teams such as the Patriots in the conference heading into the postseason.
These Jaguars finish the season against the Tennessee Titans, a team that handed them a 37-16 loss earlier this year—and head coach Doug Marrone is adamant his side is going out for some season-ending revenge.
"Make no mistake about it so there's not a lot of talk about it during the week," Marrone said, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union. "We're going to play to win, and we're going to do everything possible to win this game, period."
It's somewhat of a risky play for a team that needs to stay healthy for the playoffs.
Then again, it could be bad news for the rest of the AFC—it could mean the Jaguars stay in a quality rhythm. The defense has 52 sacks and 21 interceptions on the year while only coughing up 16.9 points per game.
Contrast that with a running game led by rookie Leonard Fournette and his 971 yards and nine touchdowns, and it all adds up to a team with a strong playoff blueprint that could help mask a weakness under center.
For now, at least, the Jaguars aren't going anywhere in the power rankings. A stab at revenge before rolling into the playoffs will dictate much about their trajectory compared to the usual heavyweights.
