The injury adds to the growing list of problems facing Brazil international Neymar in the French capital. The former Barcelona star was booed by his own supporters after taking a penalty ahead of fellow striker Edinson Cavani during Wednesday's 8-0 win over Dijon, per Get French Football News.

Although Neymar tucked away the spot-kick, he had denied Cavani the chance to become PSG's all-time leading goalscorer.

The disgruntled reaction left Neymar stung, according to BT Sport's Julien Laurens:

It's far from the first time issues have been obvious between Neymar and some of his team-mates.

There was an on-field spat with Cavani back in September, for which the Brazilian reportedly later apologised to the team, per L'Equipe (h/t AS). Neymar was also sent off in the rivalry match against Marseille, but Cavani secured a point in that contest with a late equaliser.

When healthy and focused, Neymar easily ranks among the world's best players, and he has already proved his worth to Les Parisiens by scoring 24 times in all competitions.

His latest injury rates as a setback, but fortunately for the Ligue 1 giants, the team is loaded in attack.

Julian Draxler, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore can all take his place in the starting XI. Meanwhile, Cavani and Kylian Mbappe are capable of carrying the scoring load in his absence.

Manager Unai Emery will undoubtedly hope for a swift return, but a PSG side with a nine-point lead at the top of Ligue 1 should be just fine without their star man for the foreseeable future.
